Jinhua is one of Zhejiang’s most useful surprises. It does not shout like Hangzhou or lean on a single headline-grabbing industry. Instead, it runs on markets, hardware, film sets and a stubbornly practical commercial culture that has made the city matter far beyond central Zhejiang.

According to Chinese reference material and recent local reporting, Jinhua’s economy in 2023 reached ¥601.127 billion, with Yiwu alone accounting for more than ¥205 billion of that total.
