An ATM equipped with face recognition technology began its operation at a bank in Nanjing’s downtown area of Xinjiekou. Money withdraw will only take 42 seconds.
The operation is easy. First, touch the screen to withdraw money using face recognition. Second, the ATM will take a photo of you and then compare the photo with your ID card. Third, you input your mobile phone number. Then you will just enter the withdrawal amount and password and the machine will give you cash.
The key of face recognition technology is to analyze human face features and perspectives. In the pilot phase of this ATM, the bank invited a pair of twins to try the ATM and the machine can also tell the difference between the twins.
There are only three such ATMs nationwide. The one in Nanjing is the only ATM of this kind in Jiangsu province.
