The 7th Suzhou Jinji Lake International Half Marathon kicked off on Mar 13. A record-breaking number of 30,968 runners from 41 countries and regions around the world participated in the event.

Wang Yan, a 30-year-old veteran runner from Shanghai who has run marathons in over 20 cities in China, said: “Along the race, there are a lot of beautiful scenes and bridges. Runners can feel the elements of the watery town in the modern Suzhou Industrial Park. The Pipa-shaped medal also reflects Suzhou’s elements.”

“The supply of the Jinji Lake half marathonis very rich. We have fruit, bread, chocolate and a variety of functional beverages and other necessities along the race.” Wang Yan said that originally, half marathon was not welcomed by professional runners as they prefer full marathon. However, in recent years, half marathon races have become more and more mature and have attracted a lot of professional runners from home and abroad.
