Jiangsu’s import and export volume ranks the second nationwide from January to October, 2013, with a total volume of 452.25 billion USD and a year on year growth of 0.8%.
The total international trade volume takes up 18.8% of the national imports and exports.
Though the international trade has been in the low range during the past ten months, it has obtained a modest rebound in growth speed. Decline in import has been ameliorating since July, and in October it turned upward after continuous decline since February, with a 1.1% growth compared with September.
The trade volume was up 1.0% and 5.7% respectively in southern and central Jiangsu. Despite a 9.9% drop in northern part of the province, the decline was down 0.9% compared with September.
Among 13 provincial municipalities, eight has acquired positive growth in foreign trade. Decline in exports to Japan and European Union is improving. Exports to America maintained modest increase since it gained positive growth in Q2. For Hong Kong, exports are up 14.5% year on year. As for imports from the Republic of Korea and European Union, the growth rates were both 6.2%.
