First workday after the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, June 3, brought traffic chaos to Nanjing. Due to the outage of the section between Andemen and Nanjing Olympic Sports Center of subway line 1, which was caused by the construction to connect Lines 1 and 10, an enormous congestion occurred at Andemen subway station from 7 am yesterday.
Thousands of passengers waiting for bus transfer got stuck near the station, chaos emerged when the buses weren’t enough to meet the needs.
The Public Transportation Department will continue to increase the bus supply today, and the Traffic Administrative Department will strengthen the action to ease the gridlock.
