This day, 4 November, in 1972, a grand acceptance ceremony was held in Tokyo’s Ueno Park to welcome Kang Kang and Lan Lan, a pair of giant pandas from the Beijing Zoo, to settle in Japan. The senior Japanese representaive on site said, “This pair of pandas is the best gift from the Chinese people to the Japanese people. 4 November is a symbol of friendship between the people of Japan and China”. 

1972年11月4日的这一天,在东京的上野公园举行了盛大的接纳仪式,欢迎来自北京动物园的一对大熊猫康康和兰兰来日本定居。 现场的日本高级代表说:“这对熊猫是中国人民送给日本人民最好的礼物。 11月4日是日本和中国人民之间友谊的象征。”
