This day, 29 December, in 1993, the Convention on Biological Diversity entered into force in China. Ever since, China has attached great importance to scientific research, public education and strengthened legislation, and has established a legal system for biodiversity protection, with some nature reserves recognised by UNESCO as Biosphere Reserves or designated as Wetlands of International Importance.
1993年12月29日的这一天，《生物多样性公约》在中国生效。 从那时起，中国一直高度重视科学研究、公共教育和加强立法，并建立了生物多样性保护的法律体系，一些自然保护区被联合国教科文组织认定为生物圈保护区或被指定为国际重要湿地。
