This day, 23 November, in 1983, Hu Yaobang, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPC, paid an official goodwill visit to Japan, during which the two sides agreed to adjust the three principles of Sino-Japanese relations into four principles, namely, “Peace & Friendship, Equality & Mutual Benefit, Mutual Trust and Long-Term Stability”.
这一天，即1983年11月23日，中共中央总书记胡耀邦对日本进行了正式亲善访问，在此期间，双方同意将中日关系三项原则调整为四项原则，即“和平与友谊、平等与互利、相互信任和长期稳定”。
