The APP for public bikes is being developed, and card-free borrowing of bikes may be realized in the future, said the traffic administrative department of Nanjing on Jun 14.
It is estimated that the APP will be launched within this year. Residents may choose their stops and bikes via the mobile phone APP like choosing a seat in the online cinema, borrow and return the bikes directly online. For non-local tourists, they can bundle their credit cards with WeChat account or App to realize direct borrowing and return.
In addition, for those fee-charging public bikes at tourist attractions, people may also pay via this APP. Nanjing will also provide tourist bikes at scenic spots such as Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in 2016. At present, Nanjing has built 1,291 public bike stops and launched 39,485 bikes.
