The International Law Enforcement Cooperation Forum on Secure Corridor of the New Eurasian Land Bridge kicked off in Lianyungang on the morning of Sept 22.

Representatives of law enforcement departments from 15 cities of 12 countries along the bridge, including Russia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands and Germany, police liaison officers in China from certain countries, and officials from the Regional Counter-Terrorism Structure of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and International Criminal Police Organization were invited to participate in the forum.

In the theme of building a new platform for law enforcement security cooperation along the New Eurasian Land Bridge, the forum analyzed in depth the current security situation along the bridge, discussed measures and new cooperation model to build the secure corridor and support the “Belt and Road” construction.

At the forum, China proposed to keep expanding cooperation scope and innovating in cooperation models for all-win results. The participants vowed to promote the solid development of the forum and will set up a permanent site of the forum in Lianyungang.

Foreign representatives all agreed that building the secure corridor of the New Eurasian Land Bridge not only consists with the fundamental interests of countries along the bridge and of the region, but is also an obligatory duty and mission of the police of all concerned countries. They are willing to work with China to improve cooperation platforms such as the Lianyungang forum in the joint endeavor to create a secure and smooth New Eurasian Land Bridge.
