This day, 29 April, in 1954, the main contents of the “Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence” were written in to the “Agreement on Commerce and Transportation between China’s Tibet Region and India”, the first time they were published in written form in an international treaty. The principles have withstood the test of international political turmoil ever since and has become universally recognised.
