The second phase of Nanjing Lukou International Airport project has been completed; test flights have been carried out, and the airport will be put into operation in July, said the construction manager of the airport on June 3.
It is reported that the second phase of the project increased 51 new berth places for planes and added over 30,000 square meters of cargo areas. After completion, the annual passenger throughput will be up to 30 million person-times, doubling the capacity of the first phase.
The airfield is able to accommodate all models of passenger planes and cargo aircraft. As of May 17, the number of outbound passengers in the airport was 875,500 person-times and international passengers are expected to exceed 2 million person-times this year.
