Part of Nanjing City Wall is under construction for protective maintenance. Buildings inside the protective red line of the wall will be demolished while the auxiliary buildings will be renovated. The 23 kilometers Nanjing City Wall is expected to open to public next year.
Nanjing City Wall, the relic site of urban wall in Ming dynasty, is the masterpiece of China’s ancient architecture. It still remains the longest city wall around the world.
