China woman soccer team bags first win against Japan in 5 years

China beat Japan at 2-0 on the second round of women football match in the 6th East Asian Games held on Oct 10, with Xu Yanlu from Nantong city, Jiangsu province, scoring one goal.   

Born at Xingfu village of Gangzha district, Nantong city in 1991, Xu Yanlu is less than 160 cm in height and no more than 50 kg in weight.   

She was selected for the national team after winning championship in the final of National Games held in Shandong province in 2009 and she also helped Jiangsu win the championship in senior group of woman soccer game in 2013 National Games.   

After the victory on Oct 10, all the team members were celebrating except Xu Yanlu, who, with a big towel on the shoulder and eyes swollen, said while sobbing, “I’m so happy that I can score. I hope we can keep up the good work and do better in the following match.”
