AMB China hammers home Nanjing’s strength in machinery

The Chinese government’s twelfth 5-year plan (2011–2015) sets out support for equipment intelligent equipment manufacturing. As such, related industries standing to benefit will see their representatives descend on Nanjing in October for AMB China 2013, the third China Metal Working and Forming Exhibition.

Serving as the international platform for the industry in China’s strongest manufacturing region, AMB China 2013 touts itself as the bridge and catalyst connecting people in this growing market. Last year the exhibition covered 12,000 square metres and attracted 156 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions to which were drawn 8,147 trade visitors.

Overseas exhibitors last year included Gühring (Germany), Paul Horn (Germany), Mated (Germany), Vollmer (Germany), VSM (Germany), Simon Nann (Germany), Schilling (Germany), Platit (Switzerland), The Stanley Works (USA), Hyrdoblock (Italy), Scanwill (Denmark), Formdrill (Belgium), REA (Italy) who presented products covering abrasive polishing, coating technology, hardware tool, hot melting drill and industry cleaning equipment. Of their participation, Harald Haug, Head of Export for Paul Horn GmbH, said, “we had potentially good enquiries; good quality, and following this up will keep us busy for a while”.

Baden-Württemberg will be once again be represented at AMB China. As the stronghold of German machine tool and precision tool building and the number one high-tech region in Europe, Baden-Württemberg will once again offer its manufacturers a platform to present their latest technologies and products to their partner region of Nanjing. China is the largest single market for German machine tool building and in 2012 built double the number of machines as its second largest market, the USA, with a volume of approximately 2.4 billion Euro.

Recruiters in the metalworking industry can also look forward to large numbers of student groups to also be in attendance at AMB China 2013, from the various mechanical and technical vocational schools in and around the Nanjing area.

The focal points of the exhibition at AMB China are industrial automation and instrumentation, gear cutting, welding, forming and used/retrofitted machinery.
