On this Day in Chinese History; 28 November

This day, 28 November, in 1950, when China’s special representative Wu Xiuquan spoke at the UN’s Security Council, he quoted US President Truman’s remarks on 5 January of that year regarding recognition of China’s sovereignty over Taiwan, as well as the 1943 Cairo Declaration which stated that territories stolen by Japan from China should be returned, as refuting the fallacies that “Taiwan’s status has not been determined”.
