This day, 19 November, in 1984, China sent its first Antarctic exploration team on board the “Xiangyanghong 10” from Shanghai to conduct a comprehensive scientific expedition. The following year, the Great Wall Station in Antarctica was completed in just 40 days, located on the Fildes Peninsula on King George Island, making China the 18th country to establish a scientific research station in Antarctica.
