Apr 6 is an unusual day for Zhang Zhiquan and his family, who found their 300,000 yuan (US$48,400) within just 45 minutes after it was lost.

Zhang and his family went to Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum for travel on the day. Due to the hot weather, they came to a pavilion for rest where Zhang’s wife took off her winter coat and hung the bag on a tree. After a short break, they left and didn’t realize they had left the bag on the tree until they were about 1,000 meters away. They rushed back to the pavilion but only found nothing.

In the bag were 4 bankbooks with 300,000 yuan (US$48,400) of deposit, 3,600 yuan (US$580) in cash, a gold necklace, a mobile phone, a watch and some cards. The forgetful old couple even put the password on the bankbook back.

Their daughter-in-law called the police at once. Three security guards carefully asked Zhang about the details about the lost bag, such as the color and belongings in the bag. Fortunately, a kind-hearted man picked up the bag and took it to the police. After confirming the ID card and bankbook information, the security guards returned the bag to Zhang.

“This is a miracle, and Nanjing people are so kind,” repeated the couple after taking back their bag.
