A reporter of JSCHINA.COM experienced the pilot run of Nanjing-Hangzhou high-speed railway on CRH380A-001, a test train on Nanjing-Hangzhou high-speed railway, at 2:30 pm on Mar 28.

The train, most in yellow with blue lines, is eye-catching. With a powerful driving force, the train reached 320 km/h within 5 minutes and up to 388 km/h 15 minutes later, the highest speed in the test run.

The train arrived at Deqing railway station at 3:15 pm, only 30-plus kilometers away from Hongzhou. “The train will arrive at Hangzhou East Railway Station in about 15 minutes,” said a train attendant at Deqing station.

At present, it takes more than 2 hours from Nanjing to Hangzhou by train, bypassing Shanghai. After the opening of Nanjing-Hangzhou high-speed railway, the travel time between the two places will be shortened to one hour, marking the completion of the “one-hour metropolitan circle” connected by high-speed railway network in Yangtze River Delta.
