The British School of Nanjing (BSN) is an international school employing the British curriculum. Following one of the most popular international curricula, BSN plays host to students from more than 27 nationalities. BSN is particularly known for its commitment to its multicultural outlook, and ensures that no single nationality makes up more than 30% of the school body, which means students learn with a balanced, global outlook. The British School of Nanjing is located south of the city, 30 minutes drive from the centre (Xinjiekou) and commands amazing views of Baijia Lake and its green surroundings. The school is in close proximity to prominent expatriate residential compounds, and operates 8 bus routes, designed to reduce the time students spend traveling to/from school.
The school is currently housed in 3 separate buildings on the same lakeside campus; one catering for Foundation and specialist classes, one for Primary students with the third containing the Middle school. These all offer modern and smart interior and exterior environments, with playgrounds and sports facilities that are age appropriate, safe and enjoyable for our children. However, in April, 2015, the British School of Nanjing will move to a purpose built campus situated at the base of Cui Ping Mountain due to increasing demand for places at the school.

All classrooms are generously resourced and equipped to meet English National Curriculum standards, making use of state-of-the-art technologies, such as Interactive White Boards, standard in all classrooms. In addition to standard classrooms some specialist classrooms include: Library, ICT room, Music room with 2 practice suites, Science Laboratory, Art Room and Language Rooms.
The British School of Nanjing has well equipped playgrounds, combining a selection of climbing frames, hard-court and rubber surfaces and a clear differentiation between children of different ages.
BSN is part of The British Schools Foundation, a non-profit organisation that aims to promote quality British-style education world-wide. Nearing 1500 students and over 300 employees, this network of British schools is one of the largest in Asia and has established a reputation for high academic, managerial and employment standards.
The British School of Nanjing is an independent, British-run organisation established to provide high value education to the expatriate community of Nanjing. The school was established in 2007 in response to demand from the local international community, at a time when no other school in Nanjing was offering British education. Its principal aim continues to be the provision of excellent educational based on the English National Curriculum. The British School of Nanjing offers IGCSE (International General Certificate of Education) choices. BSN has the authority of the University of Cambridge to administer and mark Cambridge Certified IGSCE and A-level (Advanced Level) examinations. Students who successfully complete their courses and the various examinations, will hold full credit under the University of Cambridge International Examinations board.
The school is governed by a Board of Directors of The British Schools Foundation that delegates powers for the day to day running of the school to the Headmaster.
