Following our popular report on the recent use of coffee as a bribe to drum up interest in adopters for China’s new Digital RMB, authorities in Nanjing are going a step further by giving away actual cash. Typo! That should be “virtual cash”.
继我们最近报道了利用咖啡作为贿赂手段来吸引中国新数字人民币采用者的兴趣之后，南京当局又更进一步，赠送了实际现金。错字！那应该是“虚拟现金”。
This time around, it’s Jiangbei New Area in Nanjing behind the giveaway. They have 18,000 Digital RMB red envelopes up for grabs, totalling a cool ¥2.2 million. Online registration begins tomorrow, 24 February, at 10:00.
这一次，赠品背后的对象是南京江北新区。他们有 18,000 个数字人民币红包可供争夺，总计 220 万元人民币。网上报名将于明天 2 月 24 日 10:00 开始。
But we’re not talking about a major sweepstakes here. Instead, the handouts take two forms; Digital RMB discount vouchers and actual gifts of money.
但我们这里讨论的不是大型抽奖活动。相反，讲义有两种形式：数字人民币折扣券和实物礼品。
The red-envelope distribution platform for the promotion is the ICBC, while there are also only six locations where the prizes may be redeemed. They include the Sandboat Jiangbei Outlets, Yonghui Supermarket and the Yangtze River Congress Centre Hotel.
此次活动的红包发放平台是中国工商银行，而可兑换奖品的地点也只有六个。其中包括沙船江北奥特莱斯、永辉超市和长江会议中心酒店。
The not-so-cool discount vouchers are valued thus; ¥400 discount on a spend of ¥1,000, ¥200 on a spend of ¥500, ¥100 on a spend of ¥200 and ¥50 on a spend of ¥100. Some 16,000 such vouchers shall be distributed, to a total value of ¥1.8 million.
不太酷的折扣券就这样被重视；满1000日元立减400日元，满500立减200日元，满200立减100日元，满100立减50日元。将发放约16,000张此类优惠券，总价值180万日元。
Then there are 2,000 actual gifts, with no spend required, each valued at ¥200, for a total of ¥400,000.

The big question of course is how to take part in the big Nanjing Jiangbei Digital RMB giveaway?
当然最大的问题是如何参加南京江北数字人民币大赠品？
Step one is to follow a participating WeChat official account, such as “Investment in Jiangbei” (投资江北), “Nanjing Jiangbei New Area” (南京江北新区) or “Nanjing Consumer Announcements” (南京消费发布).
第一步是关注参与的微信公众号，例如“投资江北”、“南京江北新区”或“南京消费公告”。
Then send to the account in question the message, “Digital RMB Red Packet” (in Chinese; 数字人民币红包), at exactly 10:00 tomorrow, 24 February, and/or the following day, 25 February, to take part in the draw for the discount vouchers.
然后在明天2月24日和/或后天2月25日10:00准时向相关账户发送“数字人民币红包”消息，即可参与折扣券抽奖。
