This day, 25 September, in 1972, Japanese Prime Minister, Kakuei Tanaka, visited China, whereafter the Sino-Japanese Joint Statement was signed, announcing, “The abnormal state of affairs between the People’s Republic of China and Japan has ended. … The Japanese side deeply feels its responsibility for causing great damage to the Chinese people due to past wars and expresses a deep introspection”.
1972年9月25日的这一天，日本首相田中角荣访问了中国，此后签署了《中日联合声明》，宣布：「中华人民共和国和日本之间的异常状况已经结束。…… 日方深感自己对过去战争给中国人民造成巨大损害的责任，并表达了深刻的反省。”
