A group of volunteers appear at an activity corner on the 17th floor of the Inpatient Department of Nanjing Children’s Hospital recently. The hospitalized children who just wake up can hardly wait to run out of their wards towards the activity corner.
Suffering from chronic diseases, these children have to stay in hospital repeatedly for a long time, can’t go to school or communicate with their classmates. Constrained by their physical conditions and forbidden to play outside, they often feel down and on the defensive against the hospital and medical professionals. In order to return them a happy childhood, the volunteers come to visit these children, play with them and take them to exercise every afternoon when the children are not receiving treatment.
