Yingqi Bird Nest Library, the smallest library in the world, was opened to the public in Nanjing’s Huashu Village on the World Reading Day.
The first 20 bird nest libraries in various shapes are distributed across the Huashu Village. Open to readers around the clock, they require no borrowing permit or deposit and set no loan period.
It is the smallest but also the largest library in the world because everyone can participate, making it universal, according to Zhao Jian, initiator of the bird nest library.
