Old couple in Nantong searches creditor for two years to repay money

After two years’ search, 66-year-old Cao Yuangao, who works at Jinhui Garden in Nantong, eventually got in touch with his creditor on Nov 21 and repaid the last debt of 21,000 yuan ($3,422). Three years ago, Cao’s son owed more than 200,000 yuan ($32,597). Cao and his wife undertook a debt of 50,000 yuan ($8,149) and promised to repay the creditor Xie Wenhua in installments. After they retired, the Cao couple found a job at Jinhui Garden of cleaning and taking care of the over 300 parking spots in the five underground garages. The old couple receives a humble salary every month and has remitted 31,000 yuan ($5,053) to Xie Wenhua’s bank account successively.

Later they lost Xie’s contact information and couldn’t continue remitting money to him. After searching for Xie for over two years, the Cao couple eventually got in touch with him in Zhejiang and remitted him 21,000 yuan ($3,423), including 19,000 yuan ($3,097) of principal and 2,000 yuan ($326) of interests.
