The online torch of the 2014 YOG had arrived in Nanjing after a round-the-world tour across 203 countries and regions on July 29 and attracted up to 70 million participants in the process.

The virtual torch of the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is expected to arrive in the host city on August 6 and start its domestic leg via two routes.

On the very day of its arrival, a total of 55 torchbearers will run the first route “Journey of Youth Celebrating” which encircles the Binjiang New City and covers 6,600 meters in total. It starts from the Olympic Square, turns into Binjiang Park via Nanjing International Youth Culture Center and ends at the Wanjingyuan Square.

The second route “Journey of Future Shaping”, then, will be covered on August 8, which runs 5,200 meters from Dongshuiguan Cultural Heritage Site to Jiqing Gate via Zhonghua Gate Castle on the Ming City Walls and will create a perfect chance for the whole world to know Nanjing as a remarkable ancient capital. 45 torchbearers will be involved.

The second relay on August 8 will bring an end to the whole YOG virtual torch relay and a closing ceremony will be held once the route is completed.
