Former weightlifting national champion, Li Shunfu, held an exhibition of flowers and birds painting at Nanjing Library, where more than 70 paintings were put on display, on the afternoon of July 6.
A Nanjing native born in 1956, Li started weightlifting practice in 1973, and he won the championship in men’s 82.5-kg class in national weightlifting championship for Jiangsu. Since retired from weightlifting, he has been working as a criminal police officer over the past more than 40 years, and he has devoted most of his spare time to painting with his skill improved all the time.
Through this personal exhibition on the eve of the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games (YOG), he wants to convey the sports spirit of “lead a happy life and forge ahead unremittingly” to Nanjing YOG as a veteran athlete.
