This day, 14 February, in 1950, the “Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship, Alliance and Mutual Assistance” was signed in Moscow. It came after Premier Zhou Enlai led a Chinese government delegation to the Soviet Union for negotiations that sought to replace the “Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship and Alliance” signed between old China and the Soviet Union, felt detrimental to China’s rights and interests.
