A song titled “Dream of Youth” created by Chen Kunlun, a student of Nanjing Teachers’ College of Pre-school Education, has stood out of 1,000 applicants in the theme song collection activity of Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

17-year old Chen Kunlun has engaged himself in a series of promotion activities of the Asian Youth Games (AYG) and the YOG since 2012. Chen, who plays the piano and has an interest in literature, soon had the inspiration to complete the lyrics when the collection activity of YOG theme song began.

After that, Chen Kunlun invited his friend, who is a professional musician, to compose the music and sing.

“We composed the song with great attention paid to each musical note, because youth means the pursuit of perfection.” Chen said.

To make the song perfect, Chen Kunlun also filmed a music video for the song with his classmates. Time-lapse photography was used in the music video with dream-pursuing as the theme.

Starting with pure white snow and ending in fragrant grass with blue sky and clear stream, the music video shows the path of pursuing dreams by brave young people. Chen Kunlun said that he hopes this song will inspire his peers to pursue their dreams without fear.

The theme song collection activity is still going on.
