China Eastern Airlines opened Nanjing-to-Australia direct air route at the end of 2012. Tourists can fly to Australia without transferring flights in Hong Kong or Shanghai, saving 3 hours of traveling time.

The load factor of direct airlines to Australia were above 85 percent in the first month after it opened, said Liu Jianlin, news spokesman of China Eastern Airlines company of Jiangsu.
