This day, 8 April, in 1968, China, the governments of Tanzania and Zambia signed protocols as to the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway, for which the Chinese government provided interest-free loans of approximately ¥1 billion and 50,000 engineering/technical personnel. With 64 to give their lives, Premier Zhou Enlai said, “The impact of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway will be incalculable”.

这一天,即1968年4月8日,中国、坦桑尼亚和赞比亚政府签署了关于建设坦桑尼亚-赞比亚铁路的议定书,中国政府为该协议提供了约10亿日元的无息贷款和5万名工程/技术人员。 周恩来总理说:“坦桑尼亚-赞比亚铁路的影响将是不可估量的”。
