This day, 3 October, in 2018, China signed the International Agreement to Prevent Unregulated Fishing in the High Seas of the Central Arctic Ocean. The State Council would go on to approve the Agreement, depositing the approval with Canada, custodian of the Agreement, in 2021, as China attaches great importance to the protection of the Arctic ecological environment and responsible fishing.
