This day, 3 June, in 1992, Premier Li Peng attended the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, also known as “Earth Summit”, at which were adopted the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development (Agenda 21) and the Framework Convention on Climate Change. Premier Li signed the two conventions on behalf of the Chinese government.
