This day, 18 March, in 1983,  the Sichuan Wolong National Nature Reserve, aka the “Home Town of Pandas” was established. A comprehensive nature reserve that mainly protects rare wild animals and plants such as giant pandas and alpine forest ecosystems, the Reserve houses in excess of 10 percent of China’s panda population and is a fully funded institution directly under the State Forestry Administration. 

1983年3月18日的这一天,四川卧龙国家自然保护区,又名“熊猫之乡”成立。 该保护区是一个综合性自然保护区,主要保护大熊猫和高山森林生态系统等珍稀野生动物和植物,拥有超过中国熊猫种群的10%,是国家林业局直接下达的全额资助机构。
