This day, 13 May, in 1947, the Battle of Menglianggu began in Linyi of Shandong Province. Fought between the encumbant Republican nationalists and the Red Army, the Battle ended with a communist victory. Still employed for propaganda purposes today, the Battle is also highlighted by Chinese military science and history.
