When simultaneously looking at a phone while performing another task, there is a multitude of things that can go wrong. Not least, paying the ultimate price; death. That’s the tragedy which befell one lady in Nanjing lately, in the City’s tallest building.
当在执行另一项任务的同时看手机时，可能会出现很多问题。 最重要的是，付出最终的代价；死亡。这就是最近在南京市最高建筑中发生在一位女士身上的悲剧。
The accident happened this past Sunday, 9 April, at around 15:00, in the atrium of the Zifeng Tower shopping mall.
事故发生在4月9日周日15:00左右，地点为紫峰大厦购物中心中庭。
That’s when the lady, standing by a glass guardrail on the the fifth floor, suddenly fell to her death on the the first-basement level, beside a fast-food restaurant.
就在这时，这名女士站在五楼的玻璃护栏旁，突然从地下一层一家快餐店旁坠落身亡。
Onlookers reported that directly before the accident, the lady had been looking at her phone. There was a loud noise and she had gone, reports The Paper.
围观者称，事故发生前，该女士一直在看手机。据澎湃新闻报道，一声巨响，她就走了。
The woman had appeared to be in her 30s and had been looking at her phone for less than 10 minutes. Nothing about her behaviour appeared out of the ordinary. A nearby retailer stated that police were on the scene a few minutes after the incident to investigate.
该女子看上去30多岁，看手机的时间不到10分钟。她的行为没有任何异常之处。附近的一家零售商表示，事件发生几分钟后，警方就赶到现场进行调查。
With few other additional details emerging, even now, some 4 days after the accident, many questions remain.
由于几乎没有其他细节浮出水面，即使是现在，距事故发生大约 4 天，许多问题仍然存在。
Was the glass guardrail in any way compromised? Did it give way while the lady was leaning on it and looking at her phone? Did some other event transpire that led to her fall?

The fatal incident remains under further investigation.

Terrifying as it is, the event does also serve as a sobering reminder as to the need to be vigilant at all times as to our safety when using phones out and about in a public setting.
