The Blackpool Dance Festival has witnessed 91 competitions. This year, the inaugural Blackpool Dance Festival China was held in Shanghai.
Wuxi girl Lou Weijia won the championships in two female solo competitions, Cha Cha and Rumba.
Lou starts her dance career when she was three years old and a half. “In the beginning, I just wanted to lose weight, however, I found myself enjoy dancing half a year later,” said the girl.
In each match, Lou usually needs to go through the test of strength, because she had to dance for several hours continuously. “This time, the match lasted from 2pm until 11 pm. It rarely had any time to rest”, Lou’s father said. Although each dance was less than 1 minute, the intensity of Latin dance was really huge, said her father.
