Two men had breakfast at a restaurant in Dafeng, Jiangsu province on the morning of Nov 21, and then drove away in a fuel tank truck without paying. Mr. Xu, the restaurant owner, was very angry. He took a taxi to chase them and caught up over 50km away after more than an hour.
When Mr. Xu stopped the oil tank truck, the two sides argued and Xu called the police. Police at Caomiao Station of Dafeng Public Security Bureau drove about 35km to the site, and asked Xu’s wife at home to take pictures of the security footage in the morning. It was only then that the two men admitted they forgot to pay. The police severely criticized them, who apologized to Xu and also paid him 250 yuan ($41), including the 22 yuan ($3.58) for breakfast and compensations for Xu’s taxi fee and loss of working time.
