Eight air-raid shelters have been open to the public for free as summer house in Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu province,since July 1st. On the first day of opening, Beijiyan air-raider shelter near Jiming temple attracted around 300 people, and this number is expected to raise in the coming few days.

The out-door temperature reached 40℃ in the afternoon on July 1st, while the air temperature inside Beijiyan air shelter kept around 25℃. Nearby residents found their way escaping the heat inside the Beijiyan air-raider shelter, and some tourists and sanitation workers also rested there.

The free opening of Beijiyan air shelter will last till the mid of September, from 9am to 6pm. The shelter is equipped with seats, water dispensers and kettles.
