Jiangsu is included as one of the three pilot provinces in the newly released technical codes of ID cards by the Ministry of Transport (MOT).
The public transport “One-card” for taking bus, subway and taxi will be widely used in August in Nanjing-Zhenjiang-Yangzhou metropolitan circle, the reporters learned on Mar 25 from the provincial transport department.
At present, the test of new technical norms is in process covering the card, read-write terminal, technical interface and security.
Jiangsu province will first establish the system of public transport card and then upgrade the card sweeping machines on buses, taxis and subways in these cities, with Nanjing to take the lead. The new system is estimated to officially come into use in August. It is believed that on the basis of the pilot cities, the promotion of the card will be accelerated across the whole province.
