Changle Village (Lishui District) secretary is removed from his post because of purchasing hundreds of bottles of baijiu (Chinese distilled alcoholic beverage) by public funds for entertainment purpose.
Investigation carried out by Lishui District Discipline Inspection Committee shows that a total of 5,671 yuan (US$945) of alcohol was purchased in seven batches using the village collective funds before Dec 8. The alcohol is mainly used for entertainment.
Buying baijiu by village collective funds violated the financial regulations of rural grassroots region. Lishui District Discipline Inspection Committee decided to give a serious warning to the village secretary and remove him from his post.
