The English version of novel Snuggling made its official premiere at the London Book Fair on Apr 14.

The novel was jointly published by the news office of Jiangsu provincial people’s government and Jiangsu Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing, Ltd under the Phoenix Publishing & Media Group.

Jacks Thomas, director of London Book Fair, Wang Yixuan, secretary of the Party committee of Phoenix Publishing & Media Group, Li Xue, vice general manager of Phoenix Publishing & Media, Inc, Huang Xiaochu, director of Jiangsu Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing, Ltd, Ding Jie, Jiangsu writer, and Fernando Arrieta, translator of the novel, as well as several local media agencies were present at the premiere.

Snuggling is a full-length love novel whose copyright has been imported by booklab of South Korea in 2013 and won favor from South Korean youngsters. The novel became a best seller among key foreign literature of Kyobo Book Centre, the biggest bookstore in South Korea and a winner of “Asian Youth Literature Award”. The copyright of its English version has been imported by a Britain publishing house.

The author of the novel, Ding Jie, is from Jiangsu province. He was praised as a “youth writer” and a “writer of the soul”. He became reputed as a “literature talent” since young and began to create and publish many works since he was 14 years old. He entered the college without taking the entrance examination for his outstanding gift in literature. In his youth age, Ding went to a lot of places of the city or remote areas.

Later on he brought his spiritual world back to literature, and created a series of excellent works. His novels and youth literature works have gained numerous prizes. The English version of Snuggling distinguishes itself from other works introduced to the English world by virtue of its beautiful wording and fascinating love stories. It presents to English readers the modern China, especially the love and thoughts and feelings of young people during their growth, mingled with featured Chinese customs and narration of the love stories. Readers can also feel the special characteristics and oriental charms of contemporary Chinese writers in their youth works.
