A groundbreaking ceremony for the Xuzhou-Suqian-Huanan-Yancheng railway line is scheduled to be held on Dec 20, according to the Railway Construction Office of Xuzhou City on Dec 6.
The section of the railway line in Suqian area from Hushao village at Gengche town in Sucheng district to Qiandang village in Baji township of Siyang county is about 63.5 kilometers long, among which an about 10-kilometer-long railway line at Yangbei town will be constructed first. To date, various works for the construction of the 10-kilometer-long railway line have been orderly carried out according to the designated schedule.
The double-track electric passenger railway line is 314 kilometers long, has 11 stations and connects Xuzhou, Suqian, Huanan and Yancheng. It allows bullet trains to run at a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
The construction of the railway line lasts four years, and it is estimated that the railway line will be put into operation by the second half of 2019, according to sources.
