Nanjing City determined its 20 key cultural projects of 2013 at the Meeting on Culture, Radio and TV Broadcasting, Press and Publication of Nanjing City on Mar 18.

These shall include the re-opening of the Memorial Hall of the Old Southern City of Nanjing after moving to its newly-built home and the modelling of the Nanbuting Historical and Cultural Streets into the Xi’nanli Cultural Streets with 72 folk art workshops featuring the distinctive cultures of the southern Yangtze River plains.

During the meeting, Chen Gang, vice mayor of Nanjing, expressed that Nanjing possesses profound cultural heritage. The work in 2013 is to continue to strengthen the Nanjing’s historical and cultural protection and utilization and accelerate key projects including the construction of the Niushoushan Ruins Park and The Porcelain Tower Ruins Park as well as maintenance of the City Walls in the section between Zhongshan Gate and Lake Biwa.
