Nanjing’s first handicap charity store was established in the Presidential Palace scenic area, Jiangsu’s media reported on 3rd February.
This store is located in the right side of the gate of the Presidential Palace scenic area, occupying 47.2 square meters. The venue was provided free of charge by the scenic area and the renovation work was undertaken by Nanjing Disabled Persons’ Federation. The store is operated by disabled people’s organizations and people with disabilities. The store aims to help people with disabilities to find jobs and to broaden the sales channels of products made by disabled persons. In addition, the store also has services including teaching on DIY charity goods, thermal transfer design and production, clothing rental and snail slow delivery.
Currently the store is looking for a name. Selling handmade products for persons with disabilities in 5A level scenic spot reflects the love of Nanjing city. The store will be officially opened during the “National Disabled Persons’ Day” on May 17 this year.
