The popular thriller The House that Never Dies has drawn attention to haunted houses. An agency in Nanjing therefore began to establish a “haunted house file” and has collected nearly 200 such houses so far.
“We have established a ‘haunted house database’ in the company by various means since last March,” said Shu Lili, head of the Marketing Department of Nanjing Homelink. “Haunted houses” collected in the database usually refer to houses in which suicide, homicide and unusual death has happened. Such houses are sold at a much lower price than the normal market price, the cheapest being sold at half the market price.
The company keeps information about such haunted houses strictly confidential. Only when the potential buyer decides to buy the house will the salesperson tell him/her that it’s a haunted house, so as to avoid future disputes.
