With the advent of the new semester, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications enrolls more than 110 students from 22 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, among whom over half are from countries along the “Belt and Road” initiatives.

Ravil from Russia majors in business administration. “I took economic management as an elective course at the age of 11, and became interested in trade since then,” said Ravil.

“Language and culture have a great effect on trade. I learn from the Internet that China has solid business relationship with Russia and Kazakhstan. I expect to learn more about interpersonal relationship in China while studying here,” he added.

“My cousin studied here last year. I learned this university from him. After searching dominant specialties and comprehensive strength of the university on the Internet, my husband and I decide to study here,” said Mst Touziat from Bangladesh. Mst Touziat majors in computer science and technology – a national-level major, and Hillol, her husband, furthers study for Master of Business Administration.

Such majors as information and communication engineering, electronic information engineering and business administration are open to overseas students to satisfy development demand of countries involved in “Belt and Road” initiatives. Courses are given in English. Apart from specialized courses, the university also sets up courses, including Chinese language, Chinese culture and Tai Chi, to cultivate urgently-needed international talents for “One Belt and One Road” plan.
