The “Memory Hall of Nanjing”, located in Meishan Village Committee on Xishanqiao Street, opened to the public free of charge on September 30th. The hundreds of old objects on exhibition are all donated by a man named Gao Song from northeast China, and each of them has a story behind it.

The Memory Hall exhibited old objects used by old Nanjing natives, such as wooden juicers, old well railings from the Ming (1368–1644) and Qing (1368–1644) dynasties, beds carved with symbols of “double happiness”, flowers used by newlyweds, and a piggy bank from the China Republic period.

Gao Song has collected nearly 10,000 old folk objects since 1996. Nearly 2,000 of these objects have been donated to Nanjing’s Memory Hall.
