A middle-aged man went down on his knees at the Zheng He Square of Qinhuai District of Nanjing, surrounded by heart-shaped candles and a large handful of bright roses on Dec 28, attracting many onlookers.
Han, 45, is from Huai’an. He knelt for about two hours to propose to a married woman.
Passers-by stepped forward to persuade him to leave but the man refused. Police were called to the scene.
After persuasion from the police, the man finally left.
