The king-size pumpkin in a space vegetable cultivation base in Nanjing can grow to 250 km, according to Jiangsu media on June 15.
A huge pumpkin in the base was already over 10 kilograms. It was beautifully-shaped and white-skinned that one just could not help but touch it. “This pumpkin can grow to 250 kilograms,” said the worker at the base. “Besides huge pumpkins, we also have bumpy pumpkins, little pumpkins and ornamental pumpkins. There are many varieties,” he added.
Nanjing Baguazhou space vegetation cultivation demonstration base covers an area of 20,000 sq m, according to the staff. 70% of the base area grows space vegetables and the other 30% grows varieties from Taiwan. Currently, some of the vegetables in the space vegetation cultivation base are about to ripen. The base will be open at the end of June when citizens can come and pick vegetables.
